We're looking for new team members who can help support us with our kaupapa at our site is located near Ngawha in the upper Te Ika-a-Māui (North Island).
About the role
Corrections officers (Āpiha Whare Herehere) spend much of their time working in their unit with offenders and can have a huge impact on influencing change through their day to day interaction.
Working rostered shifts (across a 24/7 pattern including weekends and public holidays), corrections officers work in a variety of areas within the prison and carry out the daily routines relevant to the unit they are in. They lock and unlock offenders, escort them to work training, education programmes, the health centre and outside the prison to court.

About our site
Northland Regional Corrections Facility (NRCF) is the first open style facility of its kind in Aotearoa (New Zealand). It is set in a quiet country location five kilometres east of Kaikohe. With room for up to 548 offenders, NRCF is a working prison with approximately 200 staff. The open style facility promotes freedom within defined boundaries and allows prisons to move within the facility and to take responsibility for their daily routine. It promotes a pro-social, proactive environment that best enables prisons to make a change.
