Mt Eden Service Manager, Peter, marked 50 years with Corrections just before the current Alert Level 4 lockdown.
Peter started his journey with Corrections in 1971 as an Assistant Probation Officer in Auckland. He has since worked in various roles across most of Tāmaki Makaurau | Auckland, the far north, National Office in Pōneke Wellington and even Ahitereiria | Australia! A surprise celebration was planned to commemorate his 50 years with Corrections, but due to the lockdown this had to be postponed while our Community Corrections staff worked from home.
“The experience of the coronavirus and accompanying lockdowns is certainly a first during my 50 years of work,” says Peter. “My wife and I managed to enjoy a lovely holiday just before lockdown, and working from home now is not too onerous.”
We would like to thank and congratulate Peter for his hard work and dedication over the last 50 years. We look forward to celebrating with him soon!
