Arohata Prison

Located in Tawa, Wellington, Arohata Prison is one of New Zealand's three women's prisons and the only one in the lower North Island. The facility has hosted unique rehabilitation programs, including theatre workshops where women collaborate with international practitioners to build confidence and skills. Staff here engage in innovative approaches to support women's reintegration into society.
