This privacy policy relates to the Careers at Corrections website. The Department of Corrections (‘we’, ‘us’ or ‘the department’) is committed to ensuring your privacy is protected in line with the Privacy Act 2020. We strive to uphold best practice privacy and security standards.

We collect, store and information about you to support and assess your suitability for employment. The information enables the department to provide appropriate information and support to you during the enquiry, application, and selection process.

Voluntary disclosure of personal information

You will be asked for personal information when you register for services that we offer. Examples of these services could include email newsletters, events, competitions, and sample assessments or during the application process.

Our platforms

Personal information we collect from you may be shared with third parties, if it is necessary for a purpose related to our function. It may be stored or accessed on behalf of us by authorised third parties (such as third-party contractors) to the extent that is necessary, for example them to send you emails or SMS messages. We will store and keep your personal information secure in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.

  • Peoplescout – provider of applicant system including job advertisements, candidate data and application history.
  • Campaign Monitor – provider to deliver and monitor engagement of outbound emails.
  • Spark Business Messaging, Kudosity – provider used to transmit and deliver SMS messages.
  • xREF, Checkmate – provider used during preemployment checks including reference checking.
  • Talegent – provider used to carry out pre-employment assessments including psychometric and video interviewing.

Tracking

When you visit, navigate through, and interact with this website or engage directly with any of our platforms (e.g. open an email from us, click a link we share, complete an online form) we may use automated data collection technology (such as usage monitoring software, cookies, and sessions) to collect and store certain information about your visit.

Our website uses third-party vendors, including Google and Meta, to display advertising on websites across the internet.
